I thought the results from Valves survey looked quite interesting (http://www.steampowered.com/status/survey.html).

For example, more people have Intel CPU's than AMD still. The most common driver is the Nvidia one, but the two most common card types are the ATi9800 and ATi 9600...

Most people still only have 256 - 512 meg of ram and 11% of people playing have managed to install even though they don't have a DVD drive

What I find strange is the free HD space - it's all over the place.

Most people seem to have between 70 and 80 Gb space, thoughs peaks are sporadic.

Almost 9% of people have over 250Gb spare!

I think I fit into that catagory  But then I do have 400 gig to start with, and I did just re-install again ;)

Actually, I think you're looking at total space, not spare space. From what I can see, the average spare space is 10-20gig, and it is rather uniform either side of that. That puts me in the 0.34% of people with over 250gig spare :) (Not for too long I guess though)

My valve folder is just shy of 11Gb in it's own right, let alone all the other games I have installed - no wonder valve want to see how much space people have left!

I have just the three drives atm - totalling 120Gb, though I have another 2 drives on my raid controller that just refuse to be seen, and that's another 80Gb I think, maybe 120.. it about time I did something with those before XP requires activation..

I was wondering why that statement was bothering me (About not having a DVD drive) then I realised... :wall:

I downloaded HL2, I don't have any install media... I could've installed it without even having a CD-ROM drive installed.

no porn at all if thats what you were implying, all my space is dotted about, 280 on this pc (although the 200 isnt ever in it as i lend it out to my mates etc) 120 in my xbox and 200 in my other pc :)

aw, in that case, i have over 1 TB of space spread out.

Anyway, too bad the valve survey doesn't have "What Kind Of Case", as the rental PC i am making at the moment would have None as the answer
