If anyone requires a rental for L20, please post here.

I'm afraid it will probably first come first served, as there will probably be 2 rental machines at best.

The 1 i have is a P4 2.4GHZ, 512MB RAM (might be 1gb if required), graphics are to be confirmed (Probably a 9600SE)

The Lanarchy 1 - AMD 2500XP, 768Mb Ram and possible a 9800XT for the graphics.

Rental cost -

I will put my hand up straight away-the only problem is games/patches etc. Anyone still play Vanilla BF42? I own HL original and all the additional games blah blah, original UT still, CIV3 and so forth due to my lappy status I havent bothered buying new games! can you guys give me an idea of what else you guys play besides the 'competition' games you have mentioned-then I can see what i need to buy/borrow etc.
Cheers!

If you have one of the rental machines, it will hopefully have the relavent games already installed...

But, i only have 1 steam acount - so, fraid the person who rented mine would have to supply their own steam acount prior to L20

I do have one spare one, with source on, so the machine we supply will have everything ready to go.

At present ours is only scoring 12k on Aquamark. It thinks its a 1700+ with 768meg ram and a ATi 9200 in it.

It is actually a 2500+ Barton, but the mobo is too old I think. I have nother mobo, but sc00bs couldn't get the IDE's working on it. I'll try that mobo tomorrow. The plan if I can get that working (or if anyone else has a spare socket A mobo that'll take a 2500? :side: ) is for the day I will put my 9800XT into it (I take my shuttle myself).

That would make it a 2500+ with 768meg ram and a 9800XT, which should be fine to run CSS and BF2  Thats if the mobo will work though...

**EDIT** I've installed BF2 on this machine as it is and amazingly it runs reasonably well  I'm guessing (is there a command to show FPS?) that it was down around 20 FPS, less when I drove a Humvee around, but I would say its playable. When I stick my 9800XT in, it should be fine.

Now all I have to do is check what monitors we'll have available, as the SEL guys have already booked and paid for 3 of them.

OK, chuck, if you can send payment to McBain, you have a rental for the event (remeber, paying in advance for L20 also means a cheaper entry fee)

The good news is, it looks like Sc00by just doesn't know to install a motherboard :tongueout: The mobo works fine, the HDD sounds a little dodgy, but seems to run okay.

It is now 2500+ AMD, 768meg 133 RAM and ATi 9200 Gfx card.

It is still only just getting 12

:fyi: I bloody do... :ranting:

I have evidence that would suggest otherwise...

I'm just messing with you ;) It didn't work at first, booted towards windows and bluescreened. Sometimes you get away with changing the mobo, sometimes you don't. I've reinstalled the OS (now Win XP) and all seems fine.

Well I couldn't even get that far - it wouldn't see the HDD at all, on any channel... Only thing can think is that it didn't like the IDE cables... But that really shouldn't have been an issue :?

Paypal (www.paypal.co.uk) is probably better and easier. Payment to mcbain@lanarchy.co.uk

@sc00bs, you sure the drive wasn't set to cable select, or set to slave without a master(longshot i know, but it has happened that this is a problem)?

I did ages ago-havent had to bother with it for a long time as i do not have the net at home. So pretty much 'no' I guess! Last time I played CS was November last year-got absolutely spanked too!
