Well playing this evening gave me a load of lag as well as various others on the server.

I've bowed to pressure and restarted the servers - they all seem a lot better now

Have just been lagging badly and now server seems down :(

At least I get to blame the lag on my complete lack of skillz this evening :D

Sc00bs, out of interest, did you notice how much memory the servers were taking up before restarting?

No worries, just wondered. The servers seem fine now... so it must be a matter of something building up, most likely related to Mattie's scripts. I'm going to try and figure how I can make them auto shut down and restart at 4am each day...

Unless there's some way of doing that from within the server itself I think that's going to be quite difficult on Windows. I've found a few scripts that can interrogate the running processes and find the ones to kill, one on MSDN (http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/en-us/dnclinic/html/scripting02142000.asp) and one on Mvps.org (http://vbnet.mvps.org/index.html?code/wmi/wmi_processmonitor.htm), which would provide the basic building blocks but once you've got them down it'll be difficult to get them back up in the context of the logged in user (ie. so the windows appear on the desktop when we log in).

Getting them back up shouldn't be hard, schedule tasks can do that for us.

a server with these specs: Pentium 4, 3GHz/ 1024Mb RAM can hold 5 servers 30 slots without trouble .

The lag remains very bad on the custom map CSS server. Yesterday many players were complaining then leaving. I wonder if as once before it relates to the betting?

Hmm, I'm not conviced its the betting one, but I guess it could be. The old betting one actually had to do a lot of calculation to keep track of how many players were left. I've disabled it for now, let me know if the lag improves or not :)

Hi guys, finally got round to registering. Great server, love the no awps and custom maps.

Was just playing on the custom server and the reg was far better, though I'm not sure if that was down to the betting thing being off, or just that there were only about 8 people on the server.

Hi Elmer :welcome:

Glad to see you have finally made it on here ;)

The assault server was the only one I didn't restart this morning, it had like 12 people on even at 9am :? Has someone sorted it, anyone know?
