Unfortunately it doesn't look like our upgrade has gone as smooth as possible and our servers are suffering from crashes.

The issues will be looked into this weekend, but in the meantime I would like to forewarn everyone that they may be down from time to time this week. We will endevour to get them back up as quick as possible. If you notice they have crashed, please post once in this thread (if no-one else has reported the crashes) and we can try and get them brought back up quickly.

Hopefully we will get this resolved very quickly. In the mean time, thankyou for your co-operation :)

Basically, just the dust2/office server is running at the moment, I'm gonna start up the assault one now too, and see how it copes.

Ok, cool. The custom map server has just gone back up too. We'll see if things are okay for that.

be interesting to know what the cpu utilisation is at each stage (1,2,3,4 servers), so we can get an idea if it is temperature related.

How many HP do the Zombies have? Cos I've just done 935 damage to one.... And I did 700 plus to another. The 1st died, the 2nd didn't :?

The regenerate health, so you could do over a thousand to one and not kill it. They have 600 by default I think. (Or maybe 500)

dre
08-10-05, 08:05 AM
they have a maximum of 500 i think but they regenerate there health

pitchblack
08-10-05, 08:06 AM
you could eaisley do more than 1000, it will just take a while.

McBain
08-10-05, 08:10 AM
In Sc00bs case, a very loooong while ;)

helios

mm, i think that someone tried to do as much damage as possible to a zombie by gettingit trapped, and shooting it with either a P90 or M4 in the chest, with someone else ammo running, untill someone else killed the zombie. i think they did over 16,000 damage, or was it 36,000?

McBain
08-10-05, 11:07 AM
It should have been 0 if they were shooting it in the chest... as only headshots do damage...

Sc00by
08-10-05, 11:11 AM
not sure that's true tbh, all shots seem to do damage, just only headshots will kill it? maybe?

pitchblack
08-10-05, 11:17 AM
no only headshots do damge, but if you get shot the red bit still comes up.

Sc00by
08-10-05, 11:30 AM
OK, never played as a zombie so wasn't sure...

z0na
08-10-05, 01:16 PM
how many time was there in between because the zombie's get new health when they kill people and they regenerate

helios
08-10-05, 01:40 PM
mm, when you shoot it in the chest, it still counts it as damage, but it doesn't take it off the zombie, all be it, i have killed zombies without headshots, and it has said i have done damage to its chest on the "damage" popups.

Server is down sent a support request for reboot as maka or ransom not about

McBain
08-10-05, 03:08 PM
Ok, well the good news is then... its not the warcraft server that causes the crashes. I think it must just be the heat problem they initially thought it was.

pitchblack
08-10-05, 04:04 PM
I have the best way of keeing it cool, take side of case of and stick a house fan next to the pc, keeps it cool

McBain

Erm, yeah, we'll call that plan B thanks

mmm, might possibly be an idea if we had access to the machine, and it wasn't in a server farm in london, in a large rack surrounded by others.........

CPU heatsink probably just needs reseating, or the hsf isn't rated high enough, it only seems to die when we load it pretty heavily.

McBain
09-10-05, 12:56 PM
I doubt thats it Helios, CPU temp is fine.

McBain

The servers have just gone down again, and will probably be down until around 5pm or 6pm tonight, but will hopefully be fixed then, no more crashes... we hope.

Everything is up and running already? What news do you want? (Talk to me over Xfire rather than on here)
