CSS went a bit mental for me on DE_VIEW

For some reason last night CSS went a bit mad on my machine. It all happened after i lagged for about 5 seconds. From then on, some people appeared invisible except for their guns. And when I was dead in speccy mode I was able to control the viewing of alive players with the mouse, so altho to them they were looking up for instance, i was still able to look 360.

In this 1st one you'll see that it looks like the player himself is looking down but this was actually me doing it, he was charging and actually looking forward. You'll also notice the shadow is of the gun only.

This next one speaks for itself. WTF!!! I cant remember if this was actually ElTecnikas gun or the gun of another player, either way reallly bizarr.

This final one is another weird one, the shadow of the gun is totally disconnected, under normal circumstances you dont see ur own shadow unless you look directly down.

i take it you tried restarting steam?

also, i have found view to be quite resource intense, what's your hardware setup and your graphics settings?

on most maps i have 200fps so it should be more than capable

The HL 2 FPS test records a reasonable 120 FPS which is fine for what i want.

i think the lag was another application starting or something like that which nicked the CPU. I am slightly worried tho that my GPU is up at 80 on use, however, the default threshold is 135 so this GPU must be able to take a beating. I have a 2 year hardware warentee tho so if its gonna fail it should be within the 2 years.

ah, if another ap started and tried to take the screen focus, it **could** cause the problems outlined above. I have had this hapopen to me before, when i was uing an older version of directX

have you noticed this problem on any other maps? or any other display problems?

No. And with Doom3, FarCry and HL2 the comp has not had a problem with them so far, touch wood.

just so you dont waste ur time im not lookin for any support, it was merely the weirdness i found interesting :P. However, if someone else experiences this quite often or my machine starts to more often then maybe it would be a cause for concern and im sure support from some of us techies can be given...
