NO surprise that ET won I guess, infact none of the top 10 particularly except Pirates of the Caribbean. Maybe I need to watch it again, it just didn't seem anything special...1. ET: The Extra-Terrestrial (1982)
2. Shrek (2001)
3. Mary Poppins (1964)
4. Pirates of the Caribbean (2003)
5. Toy Story (1995)
6. The Lion King (1994)
7. Back to the Future (1985)
8. Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (1971)
9. Star Wars (1977)
10. The Wizard of Oz (1939)Full list (http://www.channel4.com/film/newsfeatures/microsites/F/greatest-familymovies/results/100-96.html)

I didnt really think it was anything special the acting wasnt great and the storyline wasnt the best, i dont really see back to the future being a great family film although i did like it, out of all them shreak would probably have to be my favourite :P

Back to the Future is a classic for me. A totally original story (at the time) well acted, love Michael J Fox and Christopher Lloyd, great fun all round  One of my fav movies that :)

Yeh i can't say it wasn't a great movie because it was a true clasic film, its just would you really call it a family film?

Erm, yes. Why not? It can be watched and enjoyed by kids, adults, grandparents... everyone. No bad language, no nudity or sex, no violence. Surely that makes it a family film?
