HL2 GotY

I just bought HL2 GotY Edition. Installed etc, but when I doubleclick the shortcut, Steam pops up. What do I do to get to the game?
I saw that its listed under the my games tab, but looks like I need to Purchase it? It cost me ca. 25 quid in the store, now I need to pay even more??

On Steam click on 'Games' at the top and it should show "Activate a product on steam..." click on that and enter the CD key, i think it then should start unlocking all the games for you to play.
