Great fun. Had a few great games and a few not so great(sh*te) ones in here too!
J was most impressed - he really enjoyed so he is gonna be brushing his skills up in readiness for the next round!

Yes, but don't encourage spamming like that :tongueout: If he can't be arsed to scroll up, surely thats his problem. Like he kept posting asking what the IP was the other day. If he wanted to make the smallest of effort, he would have found it

Though in fairness to me the link was in a whole different thread (in fact I got the wrong link first time!) So I don't think that it was that out of order. Anyway you're right, of course, he should just apply himself and look for stuff (the IP is a prime example (I have it in a text fie on my desktop so I know where it is!) of why I did the above though!
Always happy to help :D

Oh man, 'parents evening' flash back!

You could always get yourself a spare PC and try the 'Sims' solution?

I did find it but didnt know what the password was...so since it wasnt posted in the thread I figured it was a different IP....I did post in the OLSC thread on their forum asking them what it was...
I only got on in the end when hunter signed onto msn messenger and told me...
I even treid getting onto teamspeak for help...I found the room signed in...but when I spoke I couldnt get a reply and I think it was becuase I needed to be a registered person so they could hear me when I spoke or something but couldnt figure out how to register on teamspeak
I just found the server password within maybe 20 seconds on their forum in this thread -
http://hosted.barrysworld.net/shootclub/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=454
You don't need to be registered on TS to be able to speak, so try and figure that one, cause it's very useful

I'm the first to admit that I sometimes don't post all the info everywhere, but I always try to make sure the OLSC forum is accurate and link back to there...
As for your TS problem, be around early next tuesday and if I'm on I'll have a look at it with you if you like?

I didnt know the password was there, why would I look at past thread links...they dont have any relevance (or I wouldnt have thought)...and how do I know the password wasnt different for every different event...

the password for the TS server is usually timmah as well.
TS server is normally up so try and connect to it when you get a chance.

Um, out of curioisity did you try searching the OLSC fourm for the word password? It finds the various threads (including the server status page) all using the same password which may give it away...
Oh also have you seen Hitman's guide to TS (http://hosted.barrysworld.net/shootclub/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=468)? don't know if it's any help for your TS problems...
Fizban
The cause of the problem is:
You must've hit the wrong any key.

maybe thnx Fisban...thnx for the help

Other than the fact that its the same server each week.
and how do I know the password wasnt different for every different event...
Because then it would have to be posted each time, and you would have seen it in the most recent thread...
How do you do college work? Do you just ask people to give you the answers and tell you what to write or do you investigate it yourself? All I'm saying is, the smallest of investigation would have found you am IP and password to try and got you on the server, no problems.

I was thinking more what would it stand for in a online gaming sense...
And I couldn't think of anything last night and I still can't think of anything this morning :(

I just didnt know the password chnaged or sod all about it becuase I had missed all the other OLSC events so I wouldnt have known..

well now you do - so no more excuses...
I just didnt know the password chnaged or sod all about it becuase I had missed all the other OLSC events so I wouldnt have known..
did you not read McBain's post?
if the password would have changed since these things started and were posted on these boards than you would have been told a password change and if you haven't then always use the last one you had
and if you haven't then always use the last one you had
But he hadn't been on before so he didn't already have one. In fairness to Skavorn the IP and password (because everyone knows them) weren't in any of the threads relating to the specific event he was trying to connect to and whilst it is reasonable to look at past event threads to glean this information, it's not really obvious...
6 of one and half a dozen of the other on this (IMHO). I think that Skavorn did try to locate this information, but that his research stopped just short of what was required. To quote every school report I ever had:
Must try harder
