Thinking of getting a ps3.

Going to hong kong in march, so might be able to get a cheaper one there. (not sure if they have the UK though, in the process of researching this...)

I'd be connecting it to my LG 22" lcd via some form of hdmi to dvi converter, as this works, and my monitor is hdcp compliant.
Just wondering about the sound though. At the moment i mainly use my speedylink medusa 5.1 for gaming, but only set up for stereo (so just using headphone jack).
Anyone know if it's easy to use my headset for the ps3?

I might have to buy a little boxxy thing so i can plug my pc and ps3 into my monitor at the same time, but that's ok.

So...
Any ideas about using my headset?

:)

okey pokey.

Just read up on it a bit more, and it looks like I should be able to do the following:

Video
PS3 ---> HDMI to DVI Cable (http://www.play.com/Electronics/Electronics/4-/3515957/Cablestar-2m-HDMI-Male-To-DVI-Male-Converter-Cable/Product.html) ---> DVI Monitor

Audio
PS3 ---> AV cable ---> AV to 3.5mm Stereo Jack (http://www.play.com/Electronics/Electronics/4-/3515966/Cablestar-2-x-RCA-Phono-Female-To-1-x-3-5mm-Male-Jack-Audio-Cable/Product.html) ---> 3.5 female coupler (http://www.maplin.co.uk/module.aspx?ModuleNo=34619&doy=3m2#overview) ---> Headset

And if i then wanted both my pc and ps3 using my headset i could use a 1x 3.5mm female -> 2x 3.5mm male converter cable.

now i just need to decide if i want to spend £300 on it :/
lol
