Thumbs up Inception

I went to see this last night, not really sure what to expect. I was thinking it might be a Matrix kind of thing... and in some ways it was, but at the same time I think it was a pretty interesting/original idea.

IMDb link

The basic premise is, this chappy Cobb (De Caprio) is a top thief of ideas. They can come into people's dreams and steal thoughts basically.

Now I'm going to move into the spoiler territory. I would remind everyone the code to use is 'spoil' inside square brackets.

All in all, I thought it was a pretty awesome film. The ending is usually the kind I really don't like, but it put a smile on my face and caused gasps from the audiance... an actual audible gasp! Yes Curfish, I think there were some applause.

I would have to say, go and see this film, for me 9/10 and I don't often rate this high.

Ahh I've heard great things about this, want to see it but might need to wait until it comes out on DVD or get the family to look after my Daughter for a couple of hours .

Glad you enjoyed it McBain, I don't like people clapping at the end as it seems that they are applauding the screen .

Maybe I phrased it wrong, they weren't really applause, well, not a round of applause anyway. More it was part of the reaction. You know how some people when they laugh hard, they also make one clap... kinda like that, lasted no more than 3 seconds.

I'm not sure I understand it more or less now... I like the bit about the ring too. I need to see it again now.

I went to see it on the weekend with my GF. I have to say i was a little dissapointed, dont get me wrong it was a good film, but the hype there has been over the film left me wanting more. It was extremely predictable, everything i expected to happen happened, and i was a little dissapointed, its like they got this great story idea and rather than taking it as far as they could they followed typical cliches.

All in all a good film 7 out of 10 with some excellent acting, but it doesnt match the hype that people have generated for it.

One part of the film which i did love was the zero g combat scene in the hotel, i thought that was done excellenty.

I have to say I felt the same in a way, I went on Wednesday night. Quite a big cast as well which I didnt realise before I went in. I was entertained lets say, thought it was well made but the story had no real supprises in it for me.

A low 8/10
