View Full Version : Another Sunday Event?

Lanarchy 14 may well be our second event on a Sunday and I was just wondering about people's thoughts on the matter.

The last time we held a Sunday event, we took lots and lots of bookings (35 I believe) and then only had about 16 people at the actual event. The date would be December 7th, so we're asking now in plenty of time, if anyone thinks Sunday is a bad idea...speak up now :)

That particular Sunday would be terrible for me as I'm getting married :)

In general, not a problem but I wouldn't see myself staying late.

Who's suggesting having it on the 6th? You think we should have it on Friday the 5th? :?

yeah but it is because of other LAN dates clashing with L14 that is causing the change

No, it's because of a venue being available on the Sunday.

oh, i thought it was because UKLans had organised their Xmas event around the same time.

Nope, the venue is asking if we would mind doing it on the Sunday, hence this thread. We still have the option to choose either day.

So far only one person has said they couldn't make the Sunday, and as he's getting married, I doubt he would make it if we held it on Saturday either...

No, it's because everyone so far (bar one - who couldn't make the whole weekend, let alone the Sunday  ;) ) is happy with it on a Sunday. I'm not saying we wouldn't get a better turn out on a Saturday, but it's not all about numbers. There will only be between 16 and 18 places (thats not counting CoF) available anyway, so it's not like we're trying to fill Alexandra Palace :)

what is the venue?

The venue is unimportant right now. It's the day we're discussing. Once we've decided that more details will be released.

Yep, although last time we had a Sunday event, 30+ people booked, but only 15 showed up :?

Quite a few this time have already paid though, so we should see them

Check it out, my first post.

We usually frag on a Sunday so Sunday's good for us.

Venue is important though. Since we live out in the sticks, any vague idea of Venues? Ie the first part of the post code. That's pretty anonymous.

Thanks.
